Brandon's Birthday!

We celebrated Brandon's birthday this past week. It is hard to believe it has been another year! Pancake breakfast, presents, naps, and a movie, made for a great day. And Jackson has gotten "happy birthday" down perfectly now, so he said it all day long. We had creme brulee for dessert, and even though it was small, it was delicious!

Brandon started class last weekend, so 3 semesters down and 2 to go. He is going to have a very busy fall with several back to back weekends of class and a long, international trip before we even get to Thanksgiving. But at least he can rest assured that he will be missed because Jackson asks for him all day long. Little J has been talking up a storm and spending some time in time out lately due to the intensity he inherited from his parents. Oh well, he is learning. And Charlotte is trying to get on the move these days. She watches Jackson like a hawk and likes to play on her mat on the floor. Jackson is very good about showing her his toys and playing music for her, but we are not at the point where I can be in the next room while they are playing because inevitably Jackson ends up trying to tackle or "hug" her. I guess I should enjoy that because if it is anything like my brothers, he won't be hugging her much when they get older! :)

The boys are happy...Charlotte is not so sure about all of this.

Happy Second Birthday Jackson!

I am a bit behind with pictures, but Jackson turned two on August 12th! We ended up having a birthday week, celebrating with my family on Wednesday and then heading to Fort Worth to celebrate with Brandon's family over the weekend. On Wednesday we woke up and went to breakfast at The Pancake Haus (amazing pancakes in SA), and then drove to my mom's place in Driftwood for the afternoon. We did some swimming, grilling, and lots of playing up there, and Jackson enjoyed his cake and presents. It even rained a little bit in the afternoon which cooled things off a bit and made for a beautiful sunset. By the time we got home, we were all worn out. It was a good day for our big 2 year old!

Waking up to "Happy Birthday" and a muffin with a #2 candle!
A little out of it still, but he ate the muffin in no time.

On Friday, we drove to Keller, and visited with Brent, Emily, Brittany, Bubba, Camryn, and Grandmommie! It was a full house and tons of fun to have all the kids together. We went to Emily's aunt and uncle's lake house all day on Saturday which was a blast and then celebrated Jackson's birthday (round 2) that evening. It was so much fun!
