Bumbo in the Shower

Jackson loves the shower, and now he can sit and enjoy it even longer. He tries to grab the water and drink it as it falls.

Happy Easter!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Easter and has enjoyed this beautiful weather. He has risen! We just arrived home from Laity Lodge where we spent the weekend visiting the Soth family. It was Jackson's first trip to camp and his first time to be in the water (other than his shower)...appropriately his first experience was in the Frio. The shallow area you can drive in wasn't too cold, so we took him down there Friday evening. I wasn't sure how he would react, but he sat down and started playing in it immediately.

Tammy made us several delicious meals, and we had a great time visiting with them. This was the first time they had met Jackson as well. We played Wii, went on a long hike, and Brandon took Jackson in their jogging stroller all the way up the steep road at the entrance to the front gate. I think we liked being outside as much as Jackson did.

Saturday afternoon Brandon and I took off on the four-wheelers for a little while and Jackson played with the kids. Then we had an Easter egg hunt...
Jackson's eggs were empty, but he didn't seem to mind and liked the grass more than anything.

We left early this morning and drove back to San Antonio for church. Jackson came to the service today and just slept in my arms. I think we wore him out over the weekend. We are going to have to make it down there again soon. Jackson wore his seersucker sailor outfit for Easter. Brandon changed and laid down on the bed for a nap before I could get a picture of his matching Sunday attire.

Long Walk

The weather was nasty at the beginning of this week, but yesterday was perfect. We decided to take Jackson for a walk, and he was so content that we just kept going for over 2 hours. Spring weather and day light savings are his new best friends...right behind sweet potatoes which he tried this week. He is officially addicted. I understand because I am too! We got him a cute little shirt for Brittany and Bubba's wedding, and I am working on finding some shoes to go with his dress pants. Got to have him looking sharp for the big day, especially if he is going to dance with the bride!

Lil' Irish

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone! Here is a little Irish love from Jackson...

This weekend was beautiful. My brother, Tim, came into town and he and Jackson hung out Friday afternoon while I got some work done. Jackson studied the guitar playing...could be a budding musician or simply wondering how good the guitar would taste! We went to Uncle Stephen's soccer game. Dripping Springs played Alamo Heights for their final game of the season, so Jackson attended his first sporting event. He loved being outside and I of course enjoyed initiating him into the world of soccer.

Uncle Stephen after his victory!

Stud Muffin

I picked Jackson up from the nursery this morning and there were 3 two year old ladies swarming him. Is it the smile, the eyes, or the attire (compliments of his uncle brent and aunt emily)? Maybe a combo, but at least he has an appropriate label now. He is dragging himself around the apartment, so there is no hiding anymore! And he is much better at sitting up as well. We are going to take a walk today to enjoy this incredible weather. He is energized by being outside just like his parents.

Third Time is a Charm

Well, after three rounds of carrots, Jackson is becoming a pro. He has mastered holding the spoon and on Saturday night he picked up a small cup with both hands, put it to his mouth, and tipped his head back to drink...we are already obsolete! At this rate, he will be in the kitchen making his own food in no time. And no strange reactions to the carrots, so hopefully this week we can try something else.

Always has an eye on the camera.

Missed his mouth a bit.

He starts out in our den and then makes his way into the kitchen if I am cooking. He has now learned how to throw it into reverse!

We spent a lot of time outside this weekend, and now we are staying in due to the rain. We are looking forward to more spring weather though.

Entering the World of Food

I made Jackson some homemade babyfood (carrots) yesterday, and we let him try them last night. At first he was a bit confused, but he gobbled them all up pretty quick. We were not sure whether he liked the carrots or the spoon more, but either way it was a good experience. His faces were hilarious...funny for us to think about what it was like to taste food for the first time.

This is my personal favorite!
Still no crawling, but now he has started getting up on his toes in the pike position. His legs are just much stronger than his arms after 6 1/2 months of bouncing non-stop. It won't be long now.

Fast Weekend

We had a good weekend here in S.A. Saturday was beautiful, so we spent sometime outside by the pool. Jackson was waking up a lot last week during the night, but ever since Friday he has slept all night which is really nice for us. He is really happy when he has slept well. He is spending a lot more time on his hands and knees rocking, but no crawling yet.
