Memorial Day Weekend

We had a weekend of visitors! Brittany, Bubba, and Camryn stopped by on their way to Mississippi, and it was amazing to see how much Camryn has grown.  These cousins are going to have all kinds of fun together in the future.  On Saturday, Brent and Emily came to SA after Emily was sworn in as a CPA in Austin.  We went to Liz Koehl's parent's house for dinner Saturday night which was fun.  Brandon, Jackson, and George got in the pool and the kids hung in there even though we stayed up pretty late.  On Sunday we went to Sunday School and then had brunch at our house.  Brent bought Jackson some bubbles which were by far the show-stopper of the weekend for Jackson.  Thanks to Brent and Emily's tutoring, Jackson is even beginning to make bubbles rather than just swinging the wand as fast as possible!  It was so nice to hang out and Jackson and Charlotte felt very loved to say the least.  Jackson is going around the house saying "Beant" over and over again...I think his Uncle Brent made an impression. We are working on saying "Emily" now!

Bouncing on the ball...Brent and Emily gave Jackson this new shirt that says, "This is how I roll" and has a pic of a jogging stroller...nice.

Mother's Day '09

We spent Mother's Day weekend in Driftwood at my mom's house this year. Brandon went to the annual "wild game" dinner in Austin on Friday night with my brother, and the rest of us enjoyed the evening out in the country.  Considering there was some serious jackhammering going on outside our apartment in SA, the peacefulness of Driftwood was an excellent change.

We had a very relaxing weekend filled with walking, napping, swimming, and cooking.  Jackson played hard to say the least and has the scratches, bruises, and sun-kissed skin to prove it. Charlotte seemed to be up for anything which was nice for me.  Brandon made chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast on Mother's Day...they were fabulous!  We went to church and then my family came out on Sunday afternoon to have dinner with us. Brandon grilled some burgers and chicken, and we made shrimp salad and crab cakes...quite the feast. The cousins were going none stop and Jackson of course was right in the middle of it all. Charlotte chose to nap...wise girl. By the time we headed home, everyone was crashed out in the car.

Other news...for those who don't know yet, Erin (my brother's wife) is pregnant! She is about 12 weeks along and due in the beginning of November.  We are really excited for them and Erin looks adorable of course with her little baby bump starting to show.  This will be their first child, so I am looking forward to seeing Paul Brian as a daddy!
