Birthday Weekend

We went to Midland over the weekend to celebrate Pam's birthday and attend Brittany and Bubba's shower. Brent and Emily flew in as well, so we were all able to spend some time together which is always enjoyable. Jackson was in Heaven playing with everyone, and I think the same goes for the rest of us. A few awards for the weekend...

1) Grandmother gets the award for most calming effect on Jackson since he would sit in her lap for long periods of time and just relax.

2) Brent and Emily get the award for most encouraging because they cheered Jackson on when he tried to crawl and made him feel like the cutest boy alive.

3) Brittany gets the award for most entertaining...no one makes Jackson want to crawl like her when she gets down on the floor and calls for him to come to her.

4) Bubba gets the award for most layed back since he was willing to do everything on the agenda from assembling wedding invitations and picking up drinks from TNT to letting Jackson play with his gotee!
5) Grandmommie gets the awards for most surprised (she got her book this weekend as well as Brent and Emily flying in for the weekend) and for most energetic because she seemed to require no sleep the whole weekend as long as everyone was around and Jackson was ready to play!

6) Gerald gets the award for most patient and tenderhearted since he always made sure Jackson wasn't crying for long before he was tended to and was always ready to take him for a walk or play with the dog.

Congratulations to all! We had a great weekend although it was fast. Happy Birthday to Pam once again...We cannot wait until April 5th when we can all be together again!

Cousins

Jackson's cousin, Eleanor, came to visit Monday for a few hours. We had lots of fun and Jackson had no problem sharing his toys. She is pretty petite, so he is an armful when she trys to hold him! Last night my mom watched Jackson, Eleanor, and our newest baby cousin, Annamarie, while we went to a benefit dinner. Apparently Jackson and Eleanor were laughing away and did very well together. I think Jackson likes having other kids around after being with me all the time.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hope everyone has a good Valentine's Day today! Jackson weighed in at 16 lbs. 5 oz. and is 26in. long, meaning he has grown an inch and gained almost 2 pounds over the past 2 months. The pediatrician said he is doing really well and that he was impressed with Jackson's reaching and general development. Jackson was attacking any equipment within his reach. He came through the shots well and only cried for a second. Once I picked him up, he started right back up flirting with the nurse. Brandon gave him a nice warm shower last night to help with any soreness in his legs from the shots, so he is feeling good today.

Six Months Old

Jackson turned 6 months today, and we spent a lot of time outside to celebrate since that is his favorite thing to do. I cannot believe how fast the months have gone by. Tomorrow he gets his immunizations, so hopefully today will make up for that. He has been rolling all over the floor and trying to tuck those legs underneath him, but we aren't quite there yet. It is not for lack of energy though because he has plenty of that. We lost one sock about 10 times today.

Celebration Time!

Brandon was accepted into the UTSA MBA program, so it was a celebration weekend for all of us! Jackson and I attempted to take a "Congrats Daddy" picture, but he looks more shocked than anything. This is our attempt at group clapping...

The official letter opening was a relief after the studying and application process. August will be here before we know it!

Sunny Days

We had a great weekend and kept busy given the beautiful weather here. Jackson attended his first Super Bowl party at a friend's house where he spent most of his time bonding with their chocolate Lab. It is nice to know he likes dogs because we would like to get one in the future. On Monday Rita came to visit from Austin which was fun for all of us. Jackson flirted away, and we had a chance to visit as well. And since the weather was warm, Jackson tried out his preppy, spring outfit.I am really having a hard time lately with the thought of him growing up because this is a really great age! He is laughing and playing and lights up the room wherever we go. I am sure it just gets better though. Brandon helped him try out a little ceiling walking last night... ...and today it was cool again with lots of sunshine, so we busted out the rimmed hat for some added protection on our walk. Like I am ever going to be able to say "no" to that face. We are in trouble.

Ladies Man

I picked Jackson up from the gym this morning and was informed that he has been flirting with a 10 month old girl that is normally there at the same times during the week! Apparently she hollers at him and he hollers back, and they keep this conversation going for quite a while. The little girl's mom told me that Jackson could pull off going for an older woman with those big blue eyes! I think we have our work cutt out for us in the future.
