It is over 100 degrees daily around here, so we pretty much stay in the house or at the pool from 10am to 4pm. Definitely the lazy days of summer. I have decided that the only way to deal with Texas summers is taking two showers a day and not even trying to fight the sweat. But Jackson has no problem with the sudden increase in pool visits, so at least he is enjoying the weather!
Since we got back from California, Jackson's vocabulary has grown from 15ish words to about 40 and counting. He now tries to say just about everything that I say. It is like having an echo follow me everywhere I go. And Charlotte is getting more active too, staying awake longer, playing with toys, and trying to sit up. It is still amazing to me how they stop sleeping as much and just "wake up" all of the sudden to the world around them.
Brandon is wrapping up his summer session of school and has kept busy catching up from our trip. He will have a short break in August and then begin his final year. I will be glad when we are back to every other weekend of class because we sure like hanging out on Saturday mornings.
I have been busy getting us back into the swing of things and preparing for Rita's wedding. But I did get to run a 10K last Friday which was something different. It was a night trail run and was a lot of fun. It is nice to know I can still do things like that though after having Jackson and Charlotte. But I will always be a soccer player rather than a runner. :)
Boat, check. Goggles, check. Ready to swim!
New blue crocs that he picked out
I guess this answers the question of whether he still needs a nap!
Typical scene in our house, we put on his shoes and he takes them off.
We helped throw a bridal shower for Matt and Rita in Austin last weekend. It turned out really well and makes me excited for their wedding in less than two weeks!
